(9-12): Fire in the Hen House: Muse of Fire and Murder Most Fowl

Biotech

Participants will use case studies based on the primary source medical journals to diagnose and solve the problem of envenomation associated with the Red Imported Fire Ant Solenopsis invicta. They will experience a simulated microarray to diagnose and treat Cancer using an drug developed from the venom of the fire ant. In the second half of the session participants will solve the mysterious outbreak of avian influenza called "Murder Most Fowl" All participants will receive a copy of the lab manual and a CD of ll of the activities presented.
